Family owned since 1879, the CVNE estate was the first to produce single-vineyard Rioja, nearly 40 years before strict wine labeling laws allowed for it. This cuvee blends tempranillo, graciano, mazuelo, and grenache from a south facing plot driven by chalk and sand soils. The grapes spend 24 months in oak, and 36 months in the bottle, leading to a mature and round profile. You can expect flavors of black cherry, cedar, and violet with a medium plus body and fine lingering tannins. This wine pairs best with tapas or chorizo and aged cheeses, or peril (marinated pork shoulder).
