From the Antica Hirpinia cooperative in Avellino comes this refreshing and floral 100% Falanghina. Grown on volcanic soil, this wine ages for 5 months in cement tanks, including three months on the fine lees. With white flowers on the nose and a ripe, silky palate, Antica Hirpinia’s Falanghina has delicate notes of wisteria, subtle tropical and stone fruit flavors as well as a hint of salinity on the finish. The symbol drawn on the label is the Mystic Rose, which can be found on carved stones left by the Knights Templar at nearby Benedictine monastery Abbazia del Goleto. Pairs well with white pizza, or an old standby, linguine and clam sauce.
