Produced by female winemaker Noëlla Morantin, Tango Atlantico is a blend of Cabernet Franc and Côt (Malbec) from vineyards near the tiny town (population: 641) of Pouillé, in the Loire Valley. Vines average around 30 years old and are farmed organically. No fining or filtration during the winemaking process, and limited sulfur usage. Dark red fruits, cacao, and cinnamon flood the palate, with notes of earthy spice, dark cassis, and just a touch of barnyard funk. This medium-to-full bodied red has firm tannins and drinks well with a smoky black bean chili or Oaxacan Mole Negro.
