CloseLoire Valley native Jeremie Choquet has trained with some of the best in the region - Bonhomme, Puzelat and Pibaleau - then set off on his own in 2018. The vines he currently tends are treated with his own, all natural concoctions of herbal teas and homemade fertilizers to promote biodiversity in the vineyard and healthy soils. Red Deer is a medium-to-light bodied 100% Cab Franc from 35-45 year old vines that’s fermented naturally and only sees old barrels and tank. On the palate are subtle black berry flavors, earthy spice notes and a touch of green and white pepper. With moderate to low tannins, this wine can take a slight chill and is a great accompaniment to a caramelized endive and goat cheese tart or a black bean veggie burger with melted cheddar.
