CloseOrsola Monferrato is a blend of primarily Barbera with a little Cabernet to round it out, from organic and biodynamic vineyards, comprised of marl and silty-clay, in the municipality of Tassarolo, at 300 meters above sea level and worked by large plough horses. The bunches are harvested by hand, crushed and undergo traditional maceration and fermentation in tanks with indigenous yeast only, for 15 days prior to spending 6 months on lees in stainless steel. It undergoes a light filtration with no fining and no added sulfites before bottling. Gorgeous aromas of red and black berries mingle with subtle floral notes. Medium bodied with balanced acidity, the warm inviting palate of cassis and cherry with distinct earthy, mineral notes is followed by a hint of spice on the firm, dry finish. An excellent accompaniment for carbonara and bolognese pastas as well as grilled vegetables.
