This compelling, medium-bodied Assyrtiko hails from a single plot on the northern slope of Mount Juchta north of Archanes, an area with at least 4,000 years of documented viticulture. Moinoterra, references the Minoan Kingdom and also contains the Greek word for wine, oinos. The vineyard sits adjacent to an excavated Minoan era (2700-1100 BCE) farm with an olive press and wine jars. After a whole grape pressing and a natural fermentation the wine rests on its lees for 8 months for increased body, flavor and complexity. A vibrant nose of kiwi and white tea welcome a bright palate of stone fruit, ripe mandarin and lemon pith with a dose of creamy leesiness. Pair with Greek classics such as Spanakopita, feta cheese or freshly grilled octopus.
