CloseJoseph Swick began his wine journey working at an organic food store in his hometown of Portland, Oregon. His love of wine inspired him to travel the globe for a decade, working harvests from Tasmania to Portugal to study the craft. In 2013 he returned home and began Swick Winery, placing emphasis on low intervention winemaking. Sourced from two local organic vineyards, this Pinot Noir undergoes whole cluster semi-carbonic fermentation with indigenous yeast in large barrels with frequent punch-downs. It's medium-to-light bodied with subtle tannins and crisp acidity. Aromas of pine forest and tart cherry emerge then give way to wild blackberry flavors and a hint of black pepper on the finish. Pair with cedar planked salmon over a wild mushroom sauce, or a black truffle carrot bisque.
