Domaine Jean-Louis Tissot is run by brother and sister, Valérie & Jean-Christophe with the help of their semi-retired parents and a few other hands. The family founded the Arbois fruitière in 1906 and began planting and producing vines in 1990. This 100% Trousseau hails from the hills of Montigny-les-Arsures. The grapes are vinified in cement tanks and aged in oak foudres. The aroma of crushed red cherry and cranberry couples with earth, spice, and delicate smoke. The fresh, light-medium-bodied red carries these same elements in its palate along with restrained raspberry, minerals, and firm, dry tannins. Pair with roast chicken topped with a comté, morel mushroom sauce or Morbiflette, Jura’s interpretation on the classic Tartiflette.
