CloseChristina Netzl developed her passion for winemaking as a child helping out on her family vineyard, Holzweg, before growing up to study oenology. The Netzl process combines certified organic viticulture with ancient techniques that result in thoughtfully crafted natural wines. Her Grüner Veltliner is harvested and pressed in whole clusters before spontaneous, native yeast fermentation in steel tanks and develops slowly through the cold Austrian Winter. It’s racked once and bottled with a touch of sulfur. On the nose, the fresh spritz of a green apple meets mineral salinity. Dashes of pepper notes and earthy minerality shine thanks to the red gravel of the terroir. It’s hazy light-body packs bone-dry liveliness with balanced notes of green pear and ruby grapefruit acidity. Pair with beer battered fish and chips or a chicken katsu curry.
