CloseThibault Ducroux's wine journey began as a toddler puttering around his winemaker father's cellars. After years of training at legendary wineries and receiving a degree in oenology, in 2019 he bought a plot of land in Beaujolais and produced his first vintage. Inspired by the teachings of Jule Chauvet– a winemaker widely regarded as the catalyst of the French natural wine movement– Ducroux is involved in both the vineyard and the cellar. His Nouveau is 100% Gamay from his vineyard in Pizay, hand harvested and carbonically macerated in a concrete tank before a gentle pressing and bottling, where it receives a minuscule amount of sulfur. The result is a textbook Nouveau Beaujolais: bright juicy berry notes flood the palate backed by a refreshing acidity. Light to medium bodied, this wine is perfect with a variety of meals, from roast delicata squash and arugula salad to a pan seared duck with root vegetable demi glace.
