The Barr Hill story begins in 2011 when Todd, a lifelong beekeeper and Ryan, a lifelong Vermonter, collaborate on one of the most unique and interesting Gins to hit the market in quite some time. Devoted to creating healthy pollinator populations in their beloved Northeast Kingdom of Vermont, they built a carbon neutral, primarily solar-powered distillery that brings their local, raw honey to life. Each batch is distilled in a custom-built botanical extraction still in which the juniper-forward botanicals are balanced by the floral notes of raw honey and lavender. The result is a clean, elegant dry gin with a subtle impression of honey that’s not actually present. Perfect in an array of cocktails from a classic Martini to a Hive 75 and of course, a quintessential Bee’s Knees.
