CloseCap Corse Mattei Blanc is defined by its distinctly Corsican components. Its made from a mistelle base of Vermentinu and Muscat Petit Grains in which they mix young spirits, essentially a brandy or eaux de vie with unfermented grape juice resulting in a fresh, fruity, slightly sweet, fortified wine. To this, they then infuse the bitter and herbal components - Cedrat (local lemon), Chincona bark, and an undisclosed blend of local botanicals. The result is an aperitif with pronounced minerality, balanced bitterness and tartness, subtle sweetness and elegant floral tones. Fantastic on ice with tonic or soda and a wedge or lemon, even better in a white Gin or Mezcal Negroni with a slice of blood orange!
