Forthave Yellow is a fortified and aromatized wine made with hybrid grapes from New York’s Finger Lakes and Génépi flowers, a member of the Artemisia family of plants, which include much tougher and bitter plants such as wormwood and mugwort, sourced from remote regions of the French Alps. This Brooklyn take on the classic Genepy clocks in at a modest 24%abv whereas its traditional, spirit-based counterparts are typically bottled at 45%. Yellow is floral, lovely and distinctly herbaceous, with notes of chamomile, honeysuckle, spearmint and just subtle sweetness. Serve over ice with tonic or soda and a lemon twist but also great as a substitute for Suze in a White Negroni, Lillet in a Vesper, or in place of Yellow Chartreuse in our fave, the Naked and Shameless!
