It’s based on the secret recipe of four medieval thieves who were caught stealing from plague victims in Marseille, thus the haunting image of the plague mask on the label. In exchange for clemency, the plundering pilferers reluctantly revealed their secret concoction. With depth and warmth, moderate sweetness and a hearty 36% abv as well as notes of cinnamon, eucalyptus, and honey, this amaro can be enjoyed neat or in a variety of cocktails.
