Agave Americana var. Oaxacensis, or Arroqueño, is a massive Agave that’s closely related to Espadin, and is often referred to as a more powerful and pungent version. Arroqueño can take up to 20 years to mature, and produces a wonderfully complex Mezcal. Cooked agave, lemon zest and a slightly starchy cereal note, it full-bodied yet chiseled, with some viscosity and a hint of sweetness balanced by piercing Jalapeño cinnamon spice and spearmint on the finish. While packed full of flavor, the Arroqueño is incredibly clean and precise, sure to please.
