La Gritona is a clean, refreshing Reposado produced by a local women-led team in Jalisco. After the agave is cooked and crushed, the juice ferments in open steel vats and is distilled twice, then rests in used American whiskey barrels for 8 months. The result is a smooth, vegetale Tequila that gets bottled in recycled Mexican Coca Cola bottles hand blown in nearby Guadalajara. Drink it on its own for the distinctive “rested” taste, perhaps alongside una cerveza.
