CloseThis new and exciting entry into the established, hidebound world of Single Malt Scotch Whisky, comes from a centuries old dairy farm that none other than Scotland’s favorite son, Rabbie Burns himself, toiled throughout his formative years from 18-25 years of age (1777-1784). In 2014, the current owners sold off their cows and converted the piggery, byre, and midden into the distillery, and repurposed the cattle sheds into bonded warehouses. This 100% estate grown golden barley from their Harvest Edition was aged in Port, Oloroso Sherry and Bourbon casks.. With aromas of baked apple, pear drops, oat biscuits and a violet note, this easy sipping whiskey finishes with Lochlea’s signature, warm cereal flavor. This second crop of Harvest Edition is meant to be enjoyed simply, neat or on the rocks with a feast of Haggis and a drunken rendition of Auld Lang Syne or Love is a Red, Red Rose, depending on your company.
