CloseJaywalk Bonded rye is a testament to enduring patience and perseverance. Aged for 7 years, this blend of Horton Heirloom and Petersen Field Race ryes prescribes to the strict rules and regulations of the federal Bottled In Bond Act of 1897, meaning that it must originate from a single distillery, be produced during a single season (spring or fall), aged for a minimum of 4 years in a federally bonded warehouse, and bottled at 100 proof, which, in our opinion, is an absolute sweet spot. It’s stronger than the standard 80-92 proof whiskies but much lower than the fiery barrel strength stuff that tends to clock in around 120+ proof. With a mashbill of 75% NY rye from Seneca Falls, 13% NY corn and 12% malted barley, this sturdy, spicy, flavorful rye can easily be enjoyed neat, with a rock or in a range of stirred cocktails like the Greenpoint or Black Manhattan.
