2016 Georg Muller Fruhburgunder Auslese Troken - Rheingau, Germany
Look out, Wolverine - it's the rise of the Mutants! But this mutated form of Pinot Noir is far more Professor Xavier than Magneto. Ripe and fruit driven, this Pinot Noir Precoce as it's called in Germany, is spicy, gamey, and medium-bodied (kinda reminiscent of some Pinotage we've had!). And if you know what's good for you, you'll head to the butcher and get yourself a nice bit of duck breast to sear (perhaps with some cherry compote on top?) and team 'em up.
