2017 Pannonhalmi Apatsagi Pinceszet Rose - Pannonhalma, Hungary
Benedictine monks began making wine in this region of Hungary in 996. After a brief interruption in production (World War II, Communist occupation), they’re back at it, turning out world-class wines like this uncommon blend of the very common varietals: 50% Pinot Noir, 30% Merlot and 20% Cabernet Franc. Juicy flavors of strawberry and cherry with a hint of citrus fruit will quench your thirst on a hot summer day. Great with salads and antipasti.
